City airport boosts capacity for Spring Festival travel rush

Chinese transport and travel authorities announced that the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush will begin on February 2 and end on March 13. Sanxia International Airport will introduce new services and increase frequencies on several popular routes during this time. A total of 16 airlines will operate 34 passenger routes at the airport, connecting Yichang to 42 domestic and international destinations.
Juneyao Airlines and Ruili Airlines are launching new routes to Yichang during the upcoming period.
Juneyao Airlines is introducing a seasonal Spring Festival service between Yichang and Shanghai Pudong, featuring 22 round-trip flights. Flight H01069 leaves Shanghai Pudong at 7:05 pm and arrives in Yichang at 9:25 pm. The return flight, H01070, departs Yichang at 10:10 pm and lands in Shanghai Pudong at 11:55 pm.
Ruili Airlines will operate flights on the Yichang-Quanzhou route from February 2 to March 27, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Flight DR5365 departs Quanzhou at 12:20 pm and arrives in Yichang at 2:15 pm. The return flight, DR5366, leaves Yichang at 3 pm and arrives in Quanzhou at 4:50 pm.
From February 5 to March 1, Shenzhen Airlines will upgrade the Guangzhou-Yichang route to daily service. Flight ZH9475 departs Guangzhou at 9:05 pm and arrives in Yichang at 10:40 pm. The return flight, ZH9476, leaves Yichang at 11:30 pm and lands in Guangzhou at 1:05 am the next day.
Shenzhen Airlines will increase its Shenzhen-Yichang route to daily flights. Flight ZH9217 leaves Shenzhen at 7:15 am and arrives in Yichang at 9:05 am. The return flight, ZH9218, departs Yichang at 9:55 am and lands in Shenzhen at 11:50 am.
Donghai Airlines will also offer daily flights on its Shenzhen-Yichang service. Flight DZ6235 departs Shenzhen at 11:15 pm and arrives in Yichang at 1:00 am. the next day. The return flight, DZ6236, leaves Yichang at 6:10 am and arrives in Shenzhen at 7:55 am.
With these new flights, the daily flight volume between Yichang and Guangzhou, Shenzhen can reach up to 16 round trips, effectively accommodating diverse passenger needs during the peak season.

Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines will increase the frequency of direct flights between Yichang and Nanning, operating every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Flight GX7851 departs Nanning at 8:30 am, arriving in Yichang at 10:40 am. The return flight, GX7852, leaves Yichang at 5 pm and arrives in Nanning at 7 pm.
This route currently operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; the added flights will make it a daily service.
Tickets for Spring Festival rush flights from Yichang to Beijing, Chengdu, Xi'an, Urumqi, Kunming, and other major cities are now on sale.
