Agricultural exports from Yichang reached 37.9 billion yuan in 2025, ranking first among all cities in Hubei Province and accounting for 26.96 percent of the provincial total, according to the city's agriculture and rural affairs bureau.

The city's export portfolio is dominated by yeast, citrus fruits, konjac-based products, and tea.

At Hubei Fomdas Foods in Yidu City, production lines are running at full capacity as workers package canned oranges for overseas shipment. "Last year, we exported more than 20,000 tons of canned oranges and yellow peaches to the United States, Europe, Southeast Asia, and other markets," said Wu Chaohong, assistant to the general manager. "Orders have risen noticeably compared with the same period last year."

Major local exporters continue to expand their international footprint. Angel Yeast, Qugu Group, and Yizhi Konjac have strengthened their global presence, with Qugu Group beginning shipments of fresh citrus to new markets in 2025, including the Seychelles, Malaysia, Mongolia, and India. Meanwhile, Yichang Tea Group registered its overseas brand, "YIVANA," in 47 countries and regions and launched its first export shipments of matcha and bulk tea.

The city also reported significant growth in export-certified infrastructure last year. The number of registered export-oriented orchards increased by 21 to reach 55, representing a year-on-year rise of 61.8 percent. Registered packaging facilities grew by 62.8 percent to a total of 43.

To support the expanding export sector, Yichang has streamlined customs procedures through online platforms and established dedicated "green channels" to accelerate clearance for perishable goods.

The city plans to cultivate more competitive export enterprises and support their participation in international trade fairs to further strengthen Yichang's presence in global markets.
