Diverse cultural activities welcome Spring Festival

Yichang has rolled out a range of cultural activities to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival, inviting residents to enjoy lantern shows and flower exhibitions across the city.
The celebrations began on February 7 with an intangible cultural heritage showcase at the Second Avenue Historical and Cultural Block in Xiling District. The event featured performances and market stalls highlighting local traditions and cultural preservation efforts.

For evening entertainment, the Children's Park will host a lantern fair from February 11 to March 3. The park will be illuminated daily from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, with large lantern installations such as "Eight Horses Galloping" on display. Traditional riddle-guessing activities will also be held during the Lantern Festival on March 3.

Floral displays are another highlight of this year’s celebrations. Binjiang Park is hosting a primrose exhibition themed "Yichang Sets Sail" and "British Bloom." A flower market run through February 11, while the exhibition will continue until late March.

Other parks across the city are also welcoming in the spring. Red plum blossoms will be on display at Chengdong Park through February 28, Qiuyutai Park will host a tulip exhibition on February 10, and the Juanqiao River Wetland will display bulb flowers, including tulips and hyacinths, from February 11 to March 3.
