Yichang City received 6.74 million tourists during the Spring Festival holiday from February 15 to 23, a year on year increase of 33 percent, according to the Yichang Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism. Total tourism revenue reached 4.78 billion yuan (US$ 692 million), up 34 percent from the same period last year.

Inbound tourism also continued to gain momentum. From January to February, Yichang welcomed 45,000 inbound tourists, up 30 percent year on year, generating 120 million yuan in international tourism revenue, a 31 percent increase.
During this year's Spring Festival holiday, the cluster effect of Yichang’s core scenic spots remained prominent.
The Three Gorges Dam Tourist Area was fully booked for seven consecutive days, with visitor numbers reaching maximum capacity on three of the eight holiday days.
The Tribe of the Three Gorges Scenic Area set a new record for visitor reception, with both tourist numbers and revenue doubling for two consecutive days.
The Qing River Gallery Scenic Area also broke its record for daily visitor numbers during the Spring Festival holiday.
Cruise tickets for the "Two Dams and One Gorge" tour sold out for five consecutive days.
Tickets for the Yangtze River Night Cruise and the Chufeng cruise ship night show were also in high demand, with tourist numbers surging 144 percent year on year.

Foreign tourists experience stilt lion dance.
"During the Spring Festival holiday, we received 1,107 inbound tourists, mainly from 12 charter flights from Thailand," said Zhu Guangying, General Manager of Hubei Shunda International Travel Agency.
In recent years, the travel agency has actively expanded into overseas markets such as Thailand and Vietnam, attracting more international visitors who come to Yichang specifically to experience the Chinese Spring Festival.
Meanwhile, the boom in inbound tourism has also boosted the premium accommodation market in Yichang. During the Spring Festival, the average occupancy rate of the eight international brand hotels in the city reached 75 percent.
The average occupancy rate of star-rated hotels stood at 55 percent, up 7.5 percentage points compared with the same period last year.
