On March 6, a total of 290 locally made GAC Trumpchi vehicles departed from Yichang East Railway Station, beginning their journey overseas via a rail‑sea intermodal route.

A total of 290 GAC Trumpchi vehicles manufactured in Yichang departed from Yichang East Railway Station, bound for Europe.

The vehicles will first be transported by rail to Guangzhou before being transferred to ocean-going vessels for shipment to Europe.

So far this year, Yichang East Railway Station has operated 34 freight trains carrying “Made in Yichang” automobiles, transporting 9,620 export-bound vehicles - a year on year increase of 60 percent.

To support the export of locally manufactured vehicles, railway operators have introduced customized end‑to‑end services, expanded parking capacity, and improved loading routes. Rail‑sea intermodal transport shortens delivery time by seven days and lowers logistics costs by about 200 yuan per vehicle, said Yang Kaikui, a manager at the Wuhan Railway Logistics Center.
