Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical has received marketing approval for its Sugammadex Sodium Injection from the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

The drug is a chemically modified gamma-cyclodextrin used to reverse neuromuscular blockade induced by rocuronium or vecuronium. It is approved for reversing neuromuscular blockade caused by either drug in adults. For pediatric patients from birth to 17 years of age, it is currently recommended only for the routine reversal of rocuronium-induced blockade. The approval further expands the company's presence in major European pharmaceutical markets.

Sugammadex Sodium Injection is not the first Yichang Humanwell product to be approved in the UK. Previously, the company's Fentanyl Citrate Injection was approved in the UK as its first small-volume injection, followed by Midazolam Injection.
The approval of three anesthetic products in the UK marks the steady acceleration of Yichang Humanwell's globalization strategy. In the future, the company plans to continue bringing more self-developed products to overseas markets, providing high-quality medication options for patients worldwide.
